Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions govern the provision of locksmith services by Inta-Lock Locksmiths Ltd. By instructing us to carry out work, you agree to these terms.

Last updated: September 2026 Inta-Lock Locksmiths Ltd • The King Centre, Oakham, Rutland LE15 7WD

1. About these terms

These Terms & Conditions set out the basis on which Inta-Lock Locksmiths Ltd supplies locksmith and vehicle-security services. They apply whenever you instruct us to attend a property or vehicle, gain entry, replace or repair a lock, cut or programme a key, install security equipment, or carry out any other agreed locksmith work.

By booking by telephone, WhatsApp, email, social media or through our website, you accept these terms. Please read them before booking. If there is anything you do not understand, call us on 01572 503203.

Your statutory rights: Nothing in these terms removes or limits your rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where these terms conflict with your statutory rights, those rights take priority.

2. Definitions

  • “We”, “us”, “our” means Inta-Lock Locksmiths Ltd.
  • “You”, “your”, “the customer” means the person or business instructing us.
  • “The work” means the locksmith, key, access or security service you ask us to provide.
  • “Call-out” means our attendance or travel to the agreed location.
  • “The vehicle” means any car, van or other vehicle we are asked to attend.
  • “All keys lost” means a vehicle-key job where no working key remains.

3. Our services and coverage area

Inta-Lock Locksmiths Ltd provides mobile locksmith services including emergency access, domestic and commercial locksmith work, lock replacement, lock repairs, security upgrades, vehicle entry, vehicle key cutting, replacement keys, transponder programming and other agreed security services.

We operate from The King Centre, Oakham, Rutland LE15 7WD and provide mobile services across our normal service area. If you are unsure whether your location is covered, contact us before booking and we will confirm availability.

We are principally a mobile service. Unless agreed otherwise, work is carried out at the customer's property or at the location of the vehicle.

4. Booking and call-outs

A contract between us is formed when we confirm that we will attend after agreeing the service, location and either the price or the basis on which the price will be calculated.

Any arrival time is an estimate given in good faith based on location, traffic, weather and our current workload. It is not a guaranteed arrival time. If circumstances materially delay us, we will contact you as soon as reasonably practicable.

You must provide accurate information when booking, including the correct address or vehicle location and enough information for us to identify the likely work required. For vehicle jobs this includes, where relevant, the make, model, year and registration.

If materially incorrect information causes a wasted journey, means we attend without the correct equipment or parts, or prevents us carrying out the agreed work, a £99 plus VAT call-out fee may be payable.

You or an authorised adult must be present at the agreed location. If nobody is present and we cannot contact you after a reasonable wait, we may leave and a £99 plus VAT call-out fee will be payable.

5. Proof of ownership and authority

We will not gain access to property or vehicles, alter security hardware, produce vehicle keys or carry out security-sensitive work unless we are reasonably satisfied that the person requesting the work owns the property or vehicle, is an authorised occupier, or has authority to instruct us.

We may request identification and supporting evidence such as proof of address, tenancy documentation, V5C registration certificate, insurance documents, hire or lease documents, company authority or other reasonable evidence.

We reserve the right to refuse or stop work where we are not satisfied as to authority or entitlement. If we have already travelled to or arrived at the location before this becomes apparent, a £99 plus VAT call-out fee may remain payable.

6. Quotes, pricing and payment

We will provide a price or pricing basis before work begins wherever reasonably possible. Quotes are based on the information supplied by the customer. If the job proves materially different after inspection — for example because of a different lock, key system, damaged component, concealed problem, aftermarket security device or previous non-standard work — we will explain the issue and any revised price before continuing.

If you decide not to proceed after we have travelled to or attended because the actual job differs materially from the information supplied at booking, a £99 plus VAT call-out fee may be payable.

Inta-Lock Locksmiths Ltd is VAT registered. Unless expressly stated to include VAT, all prices quoted are exclusive of VAT and VAT will be added at the applicable rate. Payment is due in full on completion unless agreed otherwise in writing. We accept the payment methods advised when the booking is made.

Where a customer-specific or vehicle-specific key, lock, remote or other component must be specially ordered, we may require a deposit or payment in advance. Special-order items may be non-returnable once ordered where the law permits.

For commercial customers on agreed credit terms, invoices are payable within the agreed period. We reserve the right to charge statutory interest and compensation on late commercial payments where permitted by law.

7. Access, parking and site conditions

You must ensure that we have safe and lawful access to the property or vehicle. We may decline, postpone or stop work where the location or conditions create an unreasonable risk to our locksmith, the customer, the public, the property or the vehicle.

You are responsible for arranging entry to private land, gated developments, controlled-access buildings, secured car parks or similar locations, and for reasonable parking, toll or access charges incurred while completing the work.

Vehicle programming may require stable battery voltage. If a battery is weak, flat or defective, additional battery support, charging or replacement may be required before programming can safely continue.

8. Non-destructive entry and its limits

We use non-destructive entry methods as the first approach wherever reasonably practicable. However, non-destructive entry cannot be guaranteed for every lock, property or vehicle.

Damaged or seized locks, reinforced security systems, deadlocking, previous repairs, failed mechanisms or other conditions may make non-destructive entry impractical or impossible.

If a method carrying a material risk of damage is necessary, we will explain the options before proceeding. We will not intentionally use a destructive method without your express agreement. If you decide not to proceed after we have attended, the £99 plus VAT call-out fee may still apply.

9. Property, vehicle condition and pre-existing faults

You must tell us about any known fault, damage or previous work that may affect the job, including damaged locks, doors, frames, ignitions, immobilisers, batteries, alarms, electrical systems or aftermarket security devices.

We are not responsible for pre-existing defects, wear or damage, or for failures caused by them. Where reasonably possible, we will point out relevant pre-existing issues before beginning work.

If previous unauthorised, unsuccessful or non-standard work materially affects the job, we may refuse the work or explain that a particular outcome cannot reasonably be guaranteed.

10. Vehicle keys, programming and all-keys-lost work

Vehicle key programming may involve immobiliser systems, key memory and security modules. The procedure varies by vehicle. On some vehicles, all existing keys must be present or reprogrammed; on others, missing keys can be removed from memory.

Modern vehicle programming involves communication with electronic control modules. Existing electrical faults, weak batteries, modified modules or previous programming work can affect the procedure. Nothing in this clause reduces our responsibility for loss caused by our negligence or breach of contract.

Keys, remotes or components supplied by the customer or another third party are not covered by our parts guarantee, and we cannot guarantee that a third-party item will be compatible or programme successfully. Our time and attendance may still be chargeable where we have been asked to attempt the work.

Where a supported security workflow requires authorised access to manufacturer security information, our relevant approved access procedures may be used where applicable to the vehicle and job.

11. Cancellation, call-out charge and your right to cancel

Consumer bookings made by telephone, online or away from our business premises may carry statutory cancellation rights under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

Emergency locksmith work, urgent access jobs and vehicle key replacement are often requested for immediate performance. If you expressly ask us to begin providing the service during any statutory cancellation period, you acknowledge that if you later cancel after performance has begun, you may be required to pay for the service supplied up to cancellation. Once the service has been fully performed at your express request, any statutory right to cancel that service may be lost to the extent permitted by law.

£99 + VAT cancellation / call-out charge

If you cancel after our locksmith has been dispatched or has started travelling to the agreed location, or after arrival, a fixed £99 plus VAT cancellation/call-out charge will be payable to cover the reserved appointment, travel and attendance. The same charge may apply to a no-show, inability to obtain authorised access, materially incorrect booking information, or refusal to proceed after attendance where the actual job differs materially from the information supplied.

If you cancel before our locksmith has been dispatched, the £99 call-out charge will normally not apply unless customer-specific parts have already been ordered or other non-recoverable costs have been incurred with your agreement.

If we cancel the booking, or are unable to attend and no travel or work has begun, the £99 call-out fee will not be charged. Nothing in this section overrides any statutory right you have to cancel without charge where the law requires that result.

To cancel, call 01572 503203 or email enquiries@inta-lock.co.uk.

12. Our guarantee

We will carry out work with reasonable care and skill and use materials of satisfactory quality where supplied by us.

Our workmanship is guaranteed for the period stated to you at the time of the job or on your invoice. Hardware, locks, keys, remotes and components are also subject to any applicable manufacturer warranty.

The guarantee does not cover loss, physical damage, water damage, misuse, normal wear, battery depletion, damage caused by a third party after our work, or failure caused by a pre-existing fault.

This guarantee does not affect your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

13. Our liability to you

We are responsible for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result of us breaching the contract or failing to use reasonable care and skill.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for:

  • loss or damage that was not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was made;
  • pre-existing damage, wear or faults, or losses arising from them;
  • loss caused by inaccurate or incomplete information supplied by the customer;
  • delay or failure caused by events outside our reasonable control, including severe weather, road closures, accidents, supplier failure or utility failure;
  • business losses such as loss of profit, revenue or opportunity where you are acting wholly or mainly for business purposes, except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

14. Complaints procedure

If you are unhappy with any part of our service, contact us as soon as possible. Call 01572 503203 or email enquiries@inta-lock.co.uk with your name, job date, address or vehicle registration and a description of the problem.

We will investigate the complaint and aim to respond within a reasonable period. Where an inspection is required, we will arrange this with you.
