This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, which cookies our website uses and how you can control them.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device (computer, tablet or mobile phone) by a website when you visit it. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently, to remember your preferences, and to provide information to website owners about how their site is being used.

Cookies are not programs and cannot carry viruses or malware. They cannot access other files on your device.

2. Our Website and Cookies

The Inta-Lock website at inta-lock.co.uk is a WordPress-based website. We use cookies for the following purposes:

  • Essential / functional cookies — required for the website to operate correctly. These include WordPress session cookies and form security tokens. These cookies do not collect personal data and cannot be disabled without affecting how the site works.
  • Analytics cookies — we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website in aggregate (pages visited, time on site, device type). This data is anonymised and does not identify individual visitors. Analytics cookies can be declined without affecting your ability to use the site.
  • Marketing / third-party cookies — our website may include links to or content from third-party services (such as Google Maps for our embedded location, Trustindex for reviews widgets). These services may set their own cookies when you interact with them. We do not control these third-party cookies.

3. Cookies We Set

The following cookies may be set by our website:

  • wordpress_[hash] — WordPress session cookies used for logged-in functionality. Set only when logged in to the WordPress admin area. Not relevant to general visitors.
  • wordpress_test_cookie — set by WordPress to test whether cookies are supported by your browser. Deleted when you close your browser.
  • wp-settings-[user] — WordPress personalisation cookies for logged-in users only.
  • _ga, _gid, _gat — Google Analytics cookies that collect anonymised information about how you use our website. The _ga cookie lasts up to 2 years; _gid lasts 24 hours.
  • wpforms_[id] — set by the WPForms contact form plugin to help prevent spam submissions. Contains no personal data.

4. Third-Party Cookies

Some pages of our website include content or functionality provided by third parties, which may result in additional cookies being set. These include:

  • Google Maps — our contact page includes an embedded Google Map. Google may set cookies when you interact with the map. See Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy
  • Trustindex — we use Trustindex to display our Google reviews. Trustindex may set cookies. See their privacy policy at trustindex.io/privacy-policy

We do not control these third-party cookies and are not responsible for them. We recommend checking the privacy policies of these third parties for more information.

5. How to Control Cookies

You can control and manage cookies in several ways:

Browser Settings

Most browsers allow you to refuse cookies, delete existing cookies, or receive a warning before a cookie is stored. The following links explain how to manage cookies in the most common browsers:

Please note that disabling cookies may affect the functionality of this and many other websites.

Google Analytics Opt-Out

To opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

6. Cookie Consent

By continuing to use our website, you consent to the use of cookies as described in this policy. You can withdraw your consent at any time by adjusting your browser settings or using the opt-out tools described above.

Essential/functional cookies are necessary for the website to operate and cannot be declined without disabling certain features of the site.

7. Changes to This Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time as our website or the applicable laws change. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last reviewed. We recommend checking this page periodically for any updates.
